Martyrs James the Presbyter, Azadanes and Abdicius the Deacons (+c. 380)
The holy Martyrs James the Presbyter, Azadanes and Abdicius the Deacons (+c. 380) suffered in Persia in the time of King Sapor. They were seized together with Bishop Acepsimas (commemorated 3 November). After long tortures mustard mixed with vinegar was poured into the martyrs’ nostrils; they were stripped and hung up by their feet in the frost. In the morning they were tortured again and thrown back into a cell, and at last they were beheaded.
