Venerable Christodoulos the Wonderworker (+1111)

The Venerable Christodoulos the Wonderworker came from Nicaea. At first he laboured in Bithynia, on Mount Latros, and later he was abbot of a monastery on the island of Kos. In 1089 the venerable father asked the Emperor Alexius Comnenus to cede the island of Patmos to him in exchange for lands on the island of Kos and on the coast of Caria. Later Christodoulos left Patmos with the brethren and went to the island of Euboea, where he died in 1111. His disciples translated his relics to Patmos.
