St Paul the Confessor (IX)

Saint Paul the Confessor (IX) governed the diocese of Prusa (Asia Minor) at the time when the iconoclast heresy was raging. Together with Saint Theophylact (commemorated 8 March) Saint Paul stood up courageously to defend the holy things, endured many sufferings and persecutions, and died around 850.
