Holy Martyr Theoctiristus (VIII)

The holy Martyr Theoctiristus, Abbot of Pelecete, suffered for the veneration of the holy icons under the lawless Emperor Constantine Copronymus (741–775). Boiling pitch was poured over the blessed martyr. With him suffered Saint Stephen the New (commemorated 28 November) and other pious monks.

Saint Theoctiristus is known as a spiritual writer.
