Holy Martyrs Julian, His Servant Eunus, Besas the Soldier and a Doorkeeper (III)

The holy Martyrs Julian, his servant Eunus, Besas the soldier and a doorkeeper suffered in Alexandria at the beginning of the reign of Decius (249–251). The aged Julian suffered from gout and could neither stand nor move. He was carried to the tribunal by his servants, one of whom, Eunus, courageously confessed Christ, while the other denied the Saviour. Julian and Eunus were paraded through the city on camels, mocked and insulted, and at last burned on a pyre. With them suffered the soldier Besas and a doorkeeper. They tried to protect the saints from dishonourable treatment, for which Saint Besas was beheaded, while the holy doorkeeper was burned in the fire.
