St Timothy of Symbola (+795)

The Venerable Timothy the Hermit, an Italian monk, laboured in Asia Minor, in a monastery called “Symbola” near Mount Olympus, whose archimandrite was the Venerable Theoctistus. By his unceasing labours the saint attained spiritual perfection and was granted by the Lord the gifts of healing illnesses and casting out unclean spirits. He spent many years as a hermit; he died in deep old age in 795.
