St Flavian, Archbishop of Antioch (+404)
Saint Flavian, Archbishop of Antioch (381–404), was a contemporary of John Chrysostom (+407). The holy father became famous because he managed by his exhortation to calm the wrath of the Emperor Theodosius (379–395) and obtain pardon for the people of Antioch, who had smashed the king’s statues. The venerable father reposed in peace.
