St Peter Abselamites (+309–310)
The holy Martyr Peter Abselamites (of Anea) lived in the Palestinian village of Anea. During the persecution of the Christians he was seized and brought before the governor. The judge and the people advised the saint to have pity on himself and bow down to the idols. But the blessed martyr answered: “I shall have pity on myself if I do not deny the Gospel and do not offer sacrifice to false gods!” For confessing Christ Saint Peter was burned in the fire.
