Prophet Micah (9th Century Before the Nativity of Christ)

The holy Prophet Micah lived in Judaea in the time of the Prophet Elijah. Micah denounced King Ahab and foretold his death in battle with the Assyrians, for which he was thrown into prison. After Ahab’s death the saint was set free (3 Kings 22:8–22). Micah foresaw that the Saviour would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2). He died a martyr in the ninth century before the Nativity of Christ.
