Holy Martyr Basil of Ancyra (+c. 362)

The holy Martyr Basil of Ancyra suffered for courageously confessing Christ around 362. After enduring many torments in Ancyra and Constantinople, the blessed martyr was torn to pieces by a lion in Caesarea.

This saint should be distinguished from the Hieromartyr Basil of Ancyra, who is commemorated on 22 March.
