Description

This round church banner, 530 mm across, is decorated with several rows of gilded geometric ornament. One row is a chain of eight-pointed stars with stones sparkling inside. At the centre of the golden circle is an icon of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, with the grieving apostles gathered round and Christ holding her soul, shown as an infant. The tip of the pole is crowned with a cross, the symbol of Christ's victory over death and the devil.
