Bible.
For many years the text of this edition was prepared, with the prayerful blessing of Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia, by Doctor of Philology and Theology Edisher Chelidze. The book is the first complete edition of the text of Holy Scripture and is supplied with commentary. As the editor of the edition notes, it is essential that "a properly established traditional text take root, as far as possible, in church services and among the faithful." The edition includes the Patriarch's personal prayer of blessing. It may be said with confidence that we have received the first complete, carefully prepared edition of the text of Holy Scripture in the Georgian language — for the first time in twenty centuries.
