Description

"Fasting is the first instrument of all virtues. Yet just as gluttony must be avoided, so too must excessive abstinence be avoided. Excessive abstinence weakens the body, destroying in it the vigor and freshness needed for vigilance, which fades and weakens precisely when the body's strength fades and weakens."

Saint Ignatius Brianchaninov

Volume 6

Publishing house "Alilo" offers parishioners interested in Christian theology the sixth volume of the works of Saint Ignatius Brianchaninov. This volume includes his well-known "Letters to Contemporary Monasticism," as well as the first part of his significant work "Counsels on the Spiritual Monastic Struggle."
