Description

Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Saint Spyridon.

Saint Spyridon was born in 270 AD in Cyprus and was a shepherd as the rest of his family. He was a peaceful and prudent man, who followed the teaching of Jesus Christ, and became even more devoted to it after the death of his wife.

He was ordained a Priest and because of his devotion to God, he was elected Bishop of Trimythous. According to tradition, he has performed miracles many times.

Apolytikion

O Father, God-bearer, Spyridon, you were proven a champion and Wonder Worker of the First Ecumenical Council. You spoke to the girl in the grave and turned the serpent to gold. And, when chanting your prayers, most sacred One, angels ministered with you. Glory to Him who glorified you; glory to Him who crowned you; glory to Him who, through you, works healing for all.

Hand-Painted Icons occupy a valuable place in ecclesiastical art because, beyond their obvious artistic value, a hand-painted icon unites man with the holiness of the depicted person.

For the Hand-Painted Icon of Saint Spyridon , our experienced painters use traditional techniques and high-quality materials that offer excellent depiction and durability over time.

All our Hand-Painted Icons are painted with egg tempera , while you can choose the size of the icon, the decoration of the background, the language of the inscriptions as well as the type of wood you wish to use.

Note: The final Icon may slightly differ from the catalog photo.
