Description

Handmade Byzantine Icon of Saint Euprepios.

Saint Euprepios was one of the four disciples of Saint Maximos the Confessor . Saint Euprepios, together with Saint Theodore, were tortured in Constantinople and sentenced to mutilation of their tongue and right hand, as were the other two disciples, both known by the name Anastasios. They eventually died in exile in Thrace and Laziki.

Saint Theodore died after two decades of exile, while Saint Euprepios died after one year of exile.

The Icon of Saint Euprepios is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.

During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.

It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
