Description

Handmade Byzantine Icon of the Pray in Gethsemane in which Jesus Christ is depicted praying in a standing position.

Jesus Christ went to the Garden of Gethsemane with his disciples Peter, John and James whom he asked to stay awake and pray. Then He withdrew from them and prayed to God to relieve him of the sufferings He had to endure. Finally , an angel soothed his anguish and strengthened his spirit.

The icon of the Pray in Gethsemane is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is made with devotion and respect by experienced craftsmen of the Christian tradition.

The icon is created using the technique of gold printing while its background consists of hagiographic leaves of 22 carat gold which are applied in detail.

During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.

It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
