Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of the Synaxis of the Holy Archangels.
The Archangels belong to the Nine Orders of Angels created by God for his glory and the fulfillment of his will. They are Bodiless, with superior knowledge to that of mortals and a soul without sins.
At the head of the Angelic Orders are the Archangels Michael and Gabriel , who serve God and glorify his greatness.
