Description

Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Saint Symeon the God-Receiver.

Saint Symeon the God-Reciever lived in Jerusalem and was a virtuous man. He had received the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and it was revealed to him that he will meet the Messiah before he died.

At the Presentation of Christ in the Temple , Saint Symeon took Jesus Christ in his hands and addressing God said: "Lord, now let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word, for my eyes have seen Your salvation, a Light to lighten the Gentiles, the Glory of Your people Israel."

Saint Symeon the God-Receiver also informed the Virgin Mary about the sorrow she will experience from the martyrdom of Jesus Christ.

Apolytikion

Hail Virgin Theotokos full of Grace, for Christ our God, the Sun of Righteousness, has dawned from you, granting light to those in darkness. And you, O Righteous Elder, rejoice, taking in your arms, the Deliverance of our souls, who grants us Resurrection.

Hand-Painted Icons occupy a valuable place in ecclesiastical art because, beyond their obvious artistic value, a hand-painted icon unites man with the holiness of the depicted person.

For the Hand-Painted Icon of Saint Symeon the God-Receiver , our experienced painters use traditional techniques and high-quality materials that offer excellent depiction and durability over time.

All our Hand-Painted Icons are painted with egg tempera , while you can choose the size of the Ιcon, the decoration of the background, the language of the inscriptions as well as the type of wood you wish to use.

Note: The final Icon may slightly differ from the catalog photo.
