Prayer for a Departed Christian

Remember, O Lord our God, in the eternal mansions Thy servant (handmaid) (name), who hath died in faith and in hope in Thee; and as Thou art good and the Lover of mankind, who forgivest sins and blottest out iniquities, remit, pardon and forgive all his transgressions, voluntary and involuntary. Deliver him, O Lord, from eternal torment and from the unquenchable fire of Gehenna; make him blessed and a partaker of Thine eternal good things, which Thou hast prepared for them that love Thee. For though he sinned, O Lord, yet he did not depart from Thee, nor was he unfaithful, but he trusted in the Holy Trinity, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and in Thee, One of the Trinity, Christ our God made man; and until his last breath he confessed in Orthodoxy the consubstantial Trinity. Therefore be merciful to him, and reckon his faith in Thee as a great struggle, and in Thy mercy give him rest with Thy saints. Amen.
