Venerable Simon the Myrrh-streaming (+1287)

The Venerable Simon the Myrrh-streaming laboured on Athos and by his strict, ascetic life gained the gift of wonderworking. He founded the monastery of New Bethlehem, which is now called the monastery of Simonopetra. The saint lived to a deep old age and in 1287 committed his soul to the Lord in peace. Myrrh flowed from the blessed one’s holy relics.
