Venerable Leontius of Athos (+1605)

The Venerable Leontius of Athos was born in Argos in the Peloponnese. For sixty years he laboured on Athos, in the monastery of Dionysiou, and in all that time he never once left the monastery. For his firm faith and tireless labour the Lord granted the saint the gifts of discernment and prophecy. The blessed father commended his soul to the Lord in peace on 16 March 1605, at the age of eighty-five. By God’s will, healing myrrh began to flow from his incorrupt relics.
