Holy Martyrs Caleria (Valeria), Cyriaca and Mary, Who Suffered in Caesarea of Palestine (IV)

The holy Martyrs Caleria (Valeria), Cyriaca and Mary lived in Caesarea of Palestine during the persecution of Christians by Diocletian (284–305). After coming to know the teaching of Christ and receiving baptism, they settled in a secluded place and spent their days in prayer. The saints fervently besought the Lord to end the persecution of Christians and to enlighten the whole world with the light of Christ. The governor summoned the brides of Christ and demanded that they worship the idols, to which they answered with a courageous confession of the true faith. For this the saints were seized and tortured to death.
