Venerable Agatho, Pope of Rome (+682)
The Venerable Agatho, Pope of Rome, was the son of rich and pious Christians, and thanks to them he received a good education. After his parents’ death the blessed father distributed all his property to the poor, and himself was tonsured a monk. His pious life did not remain hidden from men: in 679 the saint was elected Pope of Rome. The Venerable Agatho governed his flock wisely until his death.
