Holy Martyrs Maximus, Hesychius, Theodotus and Asclepiodota (+305–311)

The holy Martyrs Maximus, Theodotus, Hesychius and Asclepiodota suffered for confessing Christ in Adrianople, the city of the Emperor Maximian (305–311). Maximus, Theodotus and Hesychius were hung on a tree and torn with iron forks, then led from city to city amid mockery and abuse, and at last thrown to wild beasts to be torn to pieces. Clothed with the grace of God, the martyrs were kept unharmed by the beasts, and met their end at the hands of the executioners.
