Description
The chalice is brass and nickel silver, 1.5 L (1.35 L usable). The gilded surface of the chalice is decorated with fine chemically engraved patterns. Around the rim are the words sung during the communion of the faithful: “Receive the Body of Christ; taste the fountain of immortality.” Nickel silver needs proper use and care to avoid dark spots. To keep nickel silver from darkening, wipe the metal dry with a soft cloth straight after washing. Every drop of water left to dry on the surface leaves a dark oxide mark.
