Vigil dish small nickel plating (with nickel silver insert)

The vigil dish (litiya set) is rich in symbolism. The five loaves placed on it recall Christ's miracle of feeding the people with five loaves. The vessels of wheat, wine and oil stand for human labour on earth, the three-candle holder for the tree of life, the three candles for the Holy Trinity, and the round dish for the eternity of God's gifts of grace.

Because the litiya dish is used at the litiya, a special part of the All-Night Vigil held only on the eve of great feasts, the moment it is carried out of the altar is especially solemn. A nickel-plated litiya dish in noble silver with a leaf-entwined three-candle holder adorns the service.

The vigil dish comes with 75 ml nickel-silver inserts.
