Description
This brass and copper chalice has a nickel-silver insert. The gilded surface of the chalice is decorated with fine filigree and bright enamel. Around the rim are the words sung during the communion of the faithful: “Receive the Body of Christ; taste the fountain of immortality.” Nickel silver needs proper use and care to avoid dark spots. To keep nickel silver from darkening, wipe the metal dry with a soft cloth straight after washing. Every drop of water left to dry on the surface leaves a dark oxide mark.
