Description
The chalice is brass and nickel silver, 0.75 L. The stem has raised carving to stop it slipping. The gilded surface of the chalice is decorated with fine engraving of Christ Pantocrator and the four Evangelists. Around the rim are the words sung during the communion of the faithful: “Receive the Body of Christ; taste the fountain of immortality.” Packed in a cardboard box, 325 × 185 × 185 mm. Nickel silver needs proper use and care to avoid dark spots. To keep nickel silver from darkening, wipe the metal dry with a soft cloth straight after washing. Every drop of water left to dry on the surface leaves a dark oxide mark.
