Saint Silouan the Athonite, book

Saint Silouan the Athonite, Christian literature.

The venerable father Silouan the Athonite is almost our contemporary. His thoughts and sayings were recorded and preserved for us by his biographer, Archimandrite Sophrony (Sakharov), who reposed in 1993. His words are marked by simplicity and profound spirituality: he speaks to us of longing for God, of prayer to Him, of love, of divine peace, of grace, of the knowledge of God, of reflections on individual episodes of Scripture, and of spiritual guidance, monastic life and ascetic struggle.
