Throughout its existence, the Holy Mountain of Athos has abundantly possessed divine grace. The Holy Mountain established its own rule of life and community, according to which countless saints lived, and which has reached us as an unbroken tradition. It is precisely this divine tradition that is the life-giving force of monastic life today.
Publishing house "Alilo" has printed an extremely important work entitled "From the Hesychast and Ascetic Tradition of the Holy Mountain of Athos", Volume Two.
This work tells of the lives and words of the ascetics of the Holy Mountain.
The book was compiled by the hieromonk Euthymios, translated from the Greek, and includes:
1. Sayings of the Fathers, arranged alphabetically;
2. Teachings of Saint Paisios of Mount Athos, presented mainly in the form of paterikon-style accounts;
3. Accounts by contemporary fathers about the greatest Athonite ascetics of bygone times.
We hope that this book will bring great comfort to monastics and God-loving Christians of our day. May God help all who labor on this divine and sweet path.
