Publishing house "Alilo" has taken upon itself to fully compile and release in a single series all existing Georgian-language material about Mount Athos — scholarly and spiritual works, as well as historical texts and literature, that will be of great help to pilgrims.
The series is called "Mount Athos — the Holy Mountain," and two parts have already been published.
The second book of the series includes the notes of Mikheil Tamarashvili on the Holy Mountain of Athos, as well as material on the Iveron Monastery, essays on present-day monastic and spiritual life on Athos, the works of St Grigol Peradze, and the notes of Timote Gabashvili.
It also features the scholarly works of Elene Metreveli and Eldar Bubulashvili and other researchers, as well as "Letters from the Holy Mountain of Athos," published in the pages of the newspaper "Droeba."
The third part of the series is currently being prepared for print, and the fourth book will soon be sent to the printer.
We hope that Georgian readers and the church community will warmly welcome this interesting and important undertaking.
