Description

Handmade Prayer Rope with 500 knots from Mount Athos to accompany your daily prayers.

The knots are knitted from black thread while each of them consists of nine small Crosses which symbolize the Nine Orders of Angels. The Prayer Rope ends with a braided Cross and a tassel . Every 100 knots, a bead is placed, with a total of five beads throughout, offering moments for deeper reflection along the way.

Prayer Ropes is a long-standing tradition in the monks' life of Mount Athos and they are used in their continuous prayers to God, asking for blessing and catharsis of the soul.

By holding the Praying Rope and praying at each knot saying: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner" we declare our humility before the Lord while at the same time we call for help Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, the Saints and the Angels who stand for our Salvation.
