Description

Handmade Byzantine Icon of Gabriel Archangel.

Gabriel Archangel is one of the three Archangels mentioned in Christianity. His name means "Man of God" and his coming is mentioned in the Old and New Testaments when he announces to the Virgin Mary that she will give birth to the Son of God and when he announces to Joseph that they must leave Egypt and find refuge in Israel.

Troparion of Gabriel Archangel

Gabriel, commander of the heavenly hosts, / we who are unworthy beseech you, / by your prayers encompass us beneath the wings of your immaterial glory, / and faithfully preserve us who fall down and cry to you: / “Deliver us from all harm, for you are the commander of the powers on high!”

The Icon of Gabriel Archangel is an exact copy of Byzantine art and is created by experienced craftsmen using the method of gold printing where hagiographic leaves of 22 karat gold are applied in detail to decorate the background.

During the final processing, the icon is painted with dark red color around the perimeter and polished with a special varnish to maintain its shine.

It is offered in level or recessed wooden surface and is suitable for wall mounting.
