Description

Byzantine Hand Painted Icon of Monk-Martyr Saint Anastasius, the Persian.

Saint Anastasius the Persian was born in the region of Rasnuni with the name Magundat. After many miracles performed by the Holy Cross, Magundat converted to Christianity and was baptized in Jerusalem, by taking the name Anastasius.

During his visit to Caesarea, the commander Marzavanas ordered the torture and beheading of Saint Anastasius , because he remained faithful to Christianity and did not deny Jesus Christ.

Apolytikion of Monk-Martyr Saint Anastasius the Persian

Thy Martyr, O Lord, in his courageous contest for Thee received as the prize the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our immortal God. For since he possessed Thy strength, he cast down the tyrants and wholly destroyed the demons' strengthless presumption. O Christ God, by his prayers, save our souls, since Thou art merciful.

Hand-Painted Icons occupy a valuable place in ecclesiastical art because, beyond their obvious artistic value, a hand-painted icon unites man with the holiness of the depicted person.

For the Hand-Painted Icon of Monk-Martyr Saint Anastasius, the Persian our experienced painters use traditional techniques and high-quality materials that offer excellent depiction and durability over time.

All our Hand-Painted Icons are painted with egg tempera , while you can choose the size of the icon, the decoration of the background, the language of the inscriptions as well as the type of wood you wish to use.

Note: The final Icon may slightly differ from the catalog photo.
